Locus solus
Discover Locus Solus exhibition, an homage to the universe of gardens, inspired by Raymond Roussel’s novel. Locus Solus tells the story of a visit to an extraordinary park filled with curiosities, conceived and created by the scientist Martial Canterel. This exhibition, co-curated by Johanna Colombatti and gallery owner Amélie du Chalard, runs from September 5th to 11th, 2024 in the gallery located at the heart of Paris, 18 rue Séguier. Locus Solus takes its visitors on a journey through seven captivating stages, bringing together the works of twenty artists. Get ready to dive into these enchanted gardens.
Women of the Arts
The project aim is to explore a variety of layers in femininity by representing four women of the creative arts and initial professions. This project is about creating a personal diary for each one of the characters and by that reflects it in a timeless perspective – starting with their childhood and continuing throughout their adolescence life up until the present.

This notoriously difficult plant flourishes under Maxine’s care, its delicate, icy-blue blooms adding a touch of whimsical beauty to the Scottish landscape.

Anya Reeve’s Roomgarden offers a poignant exploration of botanical care as a subversive act in a dystopian future. Set in a world where gardening is discouraged, the narrative unfolds through the lens of two queer women, Sevda & Sonoka, who find solace and connection in nurturing a forbidden plant. Anya’s evocative prose paints a the picture of a society where the simple act of tending to nature becomes a symbol of resilience and connection.
Stitching Stories
Join us as Elena Sburlino takes us on a journey to the heart of the Italian Alps, where she uncovers the centuries-old tradition of crafting floral footwear. In the village of Forni di Sopra, women have been creating these unique “Scarpes” for generations. Elena will guide us through the process of making these handmade masterpieces, from selecting recycled materials to the delicate art of floral embroidery inspired by the mountains.

Lupu’s Garden

Botanical Bonds
Weronika Anna Rosa is a visual botanical artist who explores the relationship between plants and humans. Originally from Poland, she is currently based in Lisbon, Portugal. Growing up in a family of scientists and artists, Weronika was surrounded by fresh flowers and potted plants, which naturally became the central theme of her work. She uses gouache on Kraft paper and Japanese golden ink to bring her visions to life.
